Waterjet Cutting Technology

With water-jet machine

Technology
The water-jet technology is a technology which has the ability to cut all the materials on the ground with water or water-abrasive mixture beam of rays between 0.1 and 1.1 mm without discrimination of hard or soft of having the thickness between 0.1 mm and 200 mm.

Pressure formation:
The system is formed as primary and secondary steps. The primary step is formed from the hydraulic oil pressure with a maximum 200 bar which is formed through a hydraulic piston pump sensitive to changeable displacement pressure. In the measure of NG16 located on the pump, pressurization of the primary step of double axle hydraulic cylinder as bounded to the ends of strokes is provided in turn through the H centered direction management valve. The casings which the axles of the double axle cylinder are moving within also constitute the cylinders of the secondary step. There exists a 20 times area difference between the piston area of the hydraulic step and the cross sections of the double sided piston axles.

The 4000 bar pressure formed in the high pressure step which works on the basis of the construction of plunger type, is on the level that is 20 times of the pressure 200 bar formed in the primer hydraulic step. But based on the principle of the protection of the energy law, the flow of the 4000 bar pressured cutting water pressed from the primary will be 1/20 of the flow of the hydraulic oil in the primary step. The water flow is varies between1 lt/min and 8.5 lt/min depending on the type of the pumps.

Erosion effect of the water:
The 4000 bar pressured water formed in the secondary period of the system is reached to the pneumatic warning high pressure pin valve. The water pressure reached as pressure energy to the 0.1 and 0.35 mm real diamond or industrial diamond (sapphire) nozzle located to the exit of the cutting head will drop the atmosphere pressure with water gushing from the diamond nozzle. The flow rate of the water is 800 m/s (2.5 times of the sound velocity) which formed from the pressure difference of 400 bars. The cutting of the soft materials actualizes from the direct effect of the simple water gushing from the nozzle.

In hard materials, finely dosed abrasive mixture is provided to the gushing water with the object of gaining the increase the dynamic effect of the particles (F= m x a) which hit the material and the increase corroding formed by the hitting of the sharp cornered particles. The corrosive effect of the water can be expressed as cutting tension. In this condition, a process which is identified as T [daN/cm2]= F [daN] / A [cm2] formulation appears. In here, the area is the area of the gushing water beam, and the force is the dynamic effect of the hit water-abrasive particles. In the stage of the water exit from the nozzle (water nozzle), the abrasive which is absorbed by high speed water with the effect of vacuum during passing a venturi pipe is flushed to the material by mixing with water.

Water nozzle / Abrasive pipe:
The second step is named as abrasive pipe which is 3 times larger than the diameter of the water pipe in the first step. There are three alternatives as 0.55 mm, 0.76 mm, and 1.1 mm in this pipe which water and abrasive gushes as a mixture. In this condition, the cutting sign thickness and the minimum input radius diameter are also in these measures. Since the diameter of the abrasive pipe increases, the amount of energy transferred to the material increases, the effect on cutting speed will in the direction of increase. The diameter of the abrasive pipe limit is related to the flow of high pressure pump. The relationship between pump/ water nozzle/ abrasive nozzle is given below:
